6. Skills Programmes

6.1Grants for skills programmes

 

6.1.1The Authority may fund a skills programme if:
6.1.1.1It is occupationally based.
6.1.1.2When completed it will constitute a credit towards a qualification registered in terms of the National Qualifications Framework.
6.1.1.3It uses an accredited training provider.
6.1.1.4It complies with any prescribed requirements and;
6.1.1.5It is in accordance with the skills development plans of the Authority and there are funds available.

 

6.1.2The Authority may fund a short course if:
6.1.2.1The course is part of structured learning;
6.1.2.2The course satisfies any criteria set by the Authority; and
6.1.2.3The course supports the skills development plans of the Authority.

 

6.1.3The Authority may set any terms and conditions for funding it considers necessary.

 

6.2Monitoring of skills programmes

 

6.2.1The Authority must monitor any skills programme it funds.

 

6.2.2The Authority may withhold funds or recover any funds paid if it is of the opinion that:
6.2.2.1The funds are not being used for the purpose for which they were made available.
6.2.2.2Any term or condition of funding is not complied with or;
6.2.2.3The standard of the training is unsatisfactory.
