Chapter Three : Board

10. Composition

10.1The Board consists of members nominated by the chambers. Each chamber must nominate four members to the Board, two representing employers and two representing employees.

 

10.2The chairperson and deputy-chairperson of .a chamber automatically qualify as chamber nominees for appointment to the Board.

 

10.3Each chamber must elect two other persons from among its members, one representing employees and one representing employers as additional nominees for appointment to the Board.

 

10.4Members nominated by chambers in accordance with this clause are deemed to be appointed as members of the Board.

 

10.5The Board must elect one of the members as chairperson and one of the members as deputy chairperson.

 

10.6The Board must ensure that its members are sufficiently representative of designated groups.

 

10.7If the chairperson is appointed from members representing employees, then the deputy-chairperson may be appointed only from members representing employers and vice versa.

 

10.8The office of chairperson and deputy chairperson shall alternate between members representing employers and employees as the case may be after a period of thirty months from inception of the Board.
