8. Composition of the Governing Board

8.1As contemplated in Annexure "B", the Governing Board consists of twenty six (26) members made up of
8.1.1nine (9) voting members representing organised labour;
8.1.2nine (9) voting members representing organised employers including small and medium enterprises;
8.1.3four (4) non-voting members representing the interest of relevant government departments;
8.1.4three (3) non-voting members representing the interest of professional bodies; and
8.1.5one (1) non-voting member representing the bargaining council.

 

8.2The Executive Officer and the Secretary may participate in the Governing Board, but may not vote on any issue.

 

8.3The Joint Stakeholder Forum chairperson may participate in the Governing Board but may not vote on any issue.

 

8.4The number of members representing organised labour must at all times be equivalent to the number of members representing organised employers.

 

8.5Any registered Trade Union or registered Employer Association that falls within the registered scope of the CHIETA may approach the Governing Board to nominate a member or members in accordance with the procedure outlined in Annexure "C".
