(1) | The Impairment Committee may of its own accord or at the request of the pro forma complainant or of the defendant or his or her legal representative, adjourn any inquiry being held in terms of these regulations to be resumed on such date and at such time and place as the Impairment Committee may determine or as the Impairment Committee may by registered post communicate to the parties concerned. |
(2) | In considering whether or not to grant a request for postponement or adjournment, the Impairment Committee shall, amongst other matters, have regard to— |
(a) the public interest in the expeditious disposal of the case;
(b) the potential inconvenience caused to a party or any witnesses to be called by that party; and
(c) fairness to the Respondent.
