16. Control of education and training

(1)Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any law contained, no person or institution may offer or provide any education or training which is intended to qualify any person to practise the profession of dental technician or dental technologist, unless such education and training have been approved by the council.

 

(2)Any person or institution intending to offer or to provide the education and training referred to in subsection (1) shall, before offering or providing the education and training, apply to the council in writing for its approval of the education and training and shall furnish such particulars regarding the education and training as the council may require.

 

(3)The council may approve or refuse any application made in terms of subsection (2) and may, where it approves the application, impose any condition or make any requirement it may deem fit.

(5)Any person who contravenes or fails to comply with any provision of this section or any condition or requirement referred to in subsection (3) shall be guilty of an offence and on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding RI0 000.
